About the Scheme

Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship is administered by the Government of Jharkhand with the aim of equipping the next generation of leaders, decision-makers and opinion makers with the skills and knowledge to drive change and contribute to the economic and social development of the country

The Scholarship provides an opportunity to Jharkhand residents belonging to SC, ST, Minority and Other Backward communities to pursue Masters’ and MPhil programmes at participating universities in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Inspired by Jaipal Singh Munda’s extraordinary achievements, the scheme contributes to the long-term objectives of justice, equity and strengthens the links between people and organizations to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation.

Government of Jharkhand has also partnered with The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Government of the United Kingdom to institute the Chevening Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Scholarship which provides for upto 5 students to pursue a one-year year master’s degree programme in the United Kingdom.
